Instead of safeguarding us against monopolies, the Public Service Commission rubber-stamped a 28% rate hike for consumers - giving Northwestern Energy another $100 million from our paychecks.
And, instead of planning for the future, the PSC has rejected common sense, cost-saving measures to improve our energy infrastructure.
THE PSC IS A MESS
And Elena's opponent, Jennifer Fielder,
is the Vice President of the PSC.
Elena Evans
Independent for Montana
Elena is a geologist, a working mom, and an Independent candidate running to represent Montanans for Montana’s Public Service Commission District 4.
As a public servant, she's developed a unique understanding of how corporate decisions and government regulations affect local people. Working with farmers and ranchers as the Executive Director of the Montana Association of Conservation Districts, she understands the impact of technology and markets on hard-working families. Currently, she's working with the Frenchtown Community to clean up the old Smurfit-Stone mill site, pushing through the bureaucratic process to be sure the community isn’t left footing the bill.
Her family has been directly impacted by the recent 28 percent rate increase unanimously approved by the PSC. They moved to budget billing to manage the rate hike for their household. Ultimately, that’s why she's running. Like you, she's tired of our PSC serving corporations instead of working Montana families.
